Rendering

Rendering is where a sand & cement mix is applied to exposed brickwork or blockwork, which then offers a good impermeable surface. To render a wall consists of the application of 2 layers, first the scratch coat which offers the second layer a flat and even surface, and also a good key. When the first coat is dry and hard, the second coat is applied and smoothed down to complete a quality finished surface. When totally dry the surface can be painted.
